Diet Helper Japan の「Diet 」は、食の制限・食の習慣、という意味で名付けています。
私は京都に住んでいます。京都には国内外から沢山のひとが訪れています。街を観光することはもちろん、泊まること、そして、食べる事も旅の大きな楽しみです。京都には、世界でトップのレストランがあり、またカジュアルな美味しい食事ができるお店も沢山あります。
いま食事の選び方は、個人それぞれ多様化しています。食の嗜好(ヴィーガンやベジタリアンや健康思考など)、体調(アレルギーや糖質塩分制限など)、宗教、などにより様々で、食べられるもの・食べたいものを選べる事が、”その方にとっての食の安全” となっています。
京都には、それぞれの食のタイプ(ダイエタリー)の方が喜んでもらえるようにと、シェフの方が食材に工夫を凝らしたメニューを提供してくれているお店が沢山あります。しかし食のガイドブックやサイトではそれが載せきれていません。こういった情報はまだまだ発信が少なく、せっかくダイエタリーなメニューを提供できるお店があっても検索で見つかりづらく、必要とする人に届いていないのが現状です。シェフがせっかく良いレシピに取り組んでいても届かず、利用されなければもったいないことです。
素晴らしいお店のサービスが必要とする人に、しっかり届く・利用していただく。そうすることで京都の、”その方にとっての食の安全”がもっと広がり、対応レベルも向上していくことに繋がります。
シェフの思いと共にダイエタリーなお店をこのサイトで紹介し、京都を訪れる方・住んでいる方に、安心して外食が出来るようなお手伝いが出来ればと思っています。自分にあった安心安全な食事を探す方と、懸命に新しいレシピを開発するシェフの方、懸命に材料を開発されている生産者の方、が出会える場になれば幸いです。
地元に住む人間だからこそできる、細やかな情報を自分の目で確認して伝えたいと思います。

The name Diet Helper Japan originates from the word “diet”, which refers to our dietary restrictions and eating habits.
I live in Kyoto, a beautiful city visited by many travelers within Japan and other countries alike. Part of what makes visiting Kyoto such an enjoyable experience is that you can explore the heart of the city, spend some time living amongst the local community, and savor all the delectable cuisines the city has to offer at the same time. In Kyoto, you have some of the world’s best restaurants, as well as many casual yet delicious cafés and eateries to choose from.
Nowadays, our food choices have become really diverse and vary from
one person to another. What we can eat or desire to eat are influenced by dietary preferences (such as veganism, vegetarianism, healthy living),health issues (allergies, watching one’s sugar and salt intake), religious reasons and many more. These choices ultimately determine the safety of foods that are fit for each individual’s consumption.
In Kyoto, there are many restaurants where chefs work painstakingly to create menus that will please anyone regardless of their dietary
preferences. Unfortunately, these places are often not listed on any
restaurant guidebooks or websites. The reality is that there is very little exchange of information regarding these restaurants, thus preventing users who actually require the information from accessing them. It is truly a shame since these restaurant owners work so hard to provide for their customers, yet their efforts fail to reach their intended audience due to the lack of accurate information out there.
My mission is to ensure that the services of these amazing restaurants are acknowledged and received by those who are in need of them. I believe that this would eventually lead to an increase in public awareness of the various dietary needs that are considered safe for consumption depending on the individual, thus further encouraging a greater demand for accommodating all the different dietary requirements that are practiced by people these days.
I would love to honor the vision of these talented chefs by introducing their work on this site, whilst assisting travelers and locals in Kyoto so that they are able to have an unforgettable experience eating out in this city. It will be my greatest pleasure if I can connect those who are looking for places to accommodate their dietary requirements with some of the most hardworking chefs and local farmers in the community.
As a local who is familiar with this city, I believe that I am able to verify every little snippet of information with my very own eyes and convey them to you accurately to the best of my ability.
